Our story starts in Ito, a city located on the eastern shore of the Izu Peninsula in Japan, overlooking the Pacific. Nested in the deeply indented volcanic coastline, Ito serves as a gateway for tourism, agriculture and fishing. It is here where we find ourselves one morning listening to a community service announcement about a missing old person. One can’t help to hope the quest will be solved by sunset.

‘The Golden Days’ is an audiovisual capsule illuminating human mindfulness. The unscripted glances loosely connect a spectrum of realities we might live to experience. From the individual to the collective point of view, questions arise:
- What is the purpose of caring?
- How does the conversation unfold?
- Why do we immerse or detach?
This drop contains six thoughtfully crafted reels made of locally sourced, raw Japanese footage.
